W Magazine & Bruce Weber = Summer Fun
Kate Moss, Daria Werbowy, and Lara Stone are on the cover of W's July "summer camp" issue. The magazine sent these gals off to Miami with photographer Bruce Weber and designers like Alexander Wang, Georgina Chapman of Marchesa, the Rodarte girls, and Christophe Decarnin of Balmain. Their time together at, uh, Camp W produced an awesome, big, racy, and, yes, campy editorial spread. Naturally there's nary a glass of bug juice in sight at Camp W, but there are loads of to-die-for gowns which the girls swim in instead of bathing suits and some really killer fuck-me heels. And no camp is complete without family day — in this case, Kate Moss's dad and little sister come to visit. We ought to mention nudity at Camp W is as natural as making s'mores was at ours. Enjoy a few of the images after the jump. http://nymag.com/daily/fashion/2008/06/ws_racy_summer_camp_spread_wit_1.html

New Surface 2 Air Paris Flagship Store
For many years Surface 2 Air has a flagship store in Paris, which was also their first store, in the Rue L'Arbre Sec, the same street that houses Artoyz and just around the corner from Carhartt, Vans and Starcow. Now they have shut down the location and opened a new flagship store in the Marais district of Paris.

For designer Cory Gomberg, describing his clothes as "effortless" is the ultimate praise. His nascent menswear line, Bureau, is made up of beautifully crafted basics, each piece as functional as it is refined. This is no accident, as Gomberg has long been inspired by a time when mass production in clothing was still a ways off: His first label, the now-defunct Griege, gave a nod to 1930s migrant farm workers, and Bureau delivers similar references to eras past. In the eyes of Gomberg, these were the halcyon days of menswear, when "integrity and craftsmanship were the norm."
His spring collection, an homage to Camelot-era Kennedys (think off-duty at Hyannis Port) is a tightly edited grouping of classic Americana pieces: canvas shorts, oxford shirts, sweatshirts, anoraks, cotton blazers—all approached in a strikingly modern context. Says Gomberg, "My muse is a creative type who doesn't need a label to define him—it's a bit more stealth."

And stealth would be a perfect way to describe the quiet details with which Gomberg suffuses his line: sweaters cut on a bias, creatively embellished collars, playfully placed pockets. Yet, despite all the fun he's clearly having, Gomberg never fails to forget his customer. "I love the experience of getting dressed, the change one can experience when wearing a well-made garment," he says. "This is why I design—it comes down to making people feel good in their own skin."
Bureau can be found at Brigade 1785 Coventry Rd. Cleveland heights, OH. Coming soon to www.brigadeshop.com

RULES FOR LIVING BY PAUL MARLOW
While the traditional code of gentlemen is a relic of a past age, there is a movement to revive certain sartorial traditions as well as gentlemanly pursuits. In the April edition of Dejour magazine, the mustachioed Paul Marlow, one of Loden Dager's designers shares his rules to live by: A man should always have an opinion.
A man should never rule out other possibilities.
A man Is in serious trouble when he hesitates.
If you can’t have a plan, at least have a direction.
Personally, I find repetitious apologies repulsive, because at some point, you have to learn.
Desperate times call for desperate measures. When in need, a clandestine trip to Mustique will make everything better.
There is not much better in this world than the feeling of uncontrollable laughter.
If there ever were a rule that begged on its knees to be broken, it is casual fridays.
